Dosages for Various Health Conditions For the following conditions see your holistic health care practitioner for a formula specific to your needs. You can email Dr Lexis Johnson, PhD, HHP link please. NOTE: A neurotransmitter known as Substance P is released from the peripheral neurons outside the brain and spinal cord, that transmit pain signals to the brain, causing a never-ending cycle of inflammation which triggers the brain to call for more Substance P. Eventually this causes autoimmune conditions. Cayenne interrupts this cycle and reduces Substance P by 80% following the proper amounts of high doses of capsaicin. It can be medically injected under the skin for the best results, however finding a medical doctor who will do this is very difficult. The next best course of action is to take Cayenne internally by liquid herbal extract. Cayenne’s constituent’s properties can also substantially reduce the release of Substance P in those suffering from various autoimmune diseases as follows. The constituents in Cayenne can protect the body against some known food and beverage chemicals that can cause cancer and induce cell mutations. When it is taken with plant cholorphyll its mutagenic properties are suppressed (free radical scavenger). ALLERGIES: Cayenne reduces the severity of a constantly runny nose caused by chronic allergic and non-allergic conditions. ANGINA: Do not discontinue any medication you are currently taking for your heart condition. Make sure you tell your medical practitioner before you start this program so your condition can be monitored. ARTHRITIS: Capsaicin inhibits the activity of substance P. Cayenne has an anti-inflammatory action, attributed to the effect of capsaicin on substance P, which is a peptide and nervous system derivative that is released in the spinal cord and from the peripheral nerve endings. The neuropeptide has multiple pro-inflammatory properties and is released in greater quantities from pain transmission nerves (sensory afferent nerve fiber terminals) located in knee and ankle joints where arthritic swelling generally occurs. Excess substance P breaks down the cartilage that cushions the joints and contributes to osteoarthritis. It is also a pain neurotransmitter in both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, causing a lot of pain. To make a skin rub: add a tablespoon of cayenne pepper to a pint of rubbing alcohol and allow to sit in the dark at room temperature until the alcohol is bright red; strain and use as an external rub. ASTHMA: An overproduction of substance P has been suspected as likely being a contributing factor in asthma. There are excess receptors for substance P in the lungs. In some individuals, a cayenne tincture may help to relieve the labored breathing and wheezing common to asthma sufferers. For an asthma attack: mix a pinch of Cayenne pepper in with some hot chocolate and sip slowly. ATHEROSCLEROSIS or ARTERIOSCLEROSIS: Cayenne softens the arteries, dilates the circulatory system, strengthesn the heart and cleanses the inner walls of the circulatory system. BLOOD CLOTS: Cayenne has an effect of protecting against blood clot formation by causing an increase in fibrinolytic (clot-dissolving) activity of the red blood cells. BOILS: For abscesses or boils: apply Cayenne liquid extract to the abscess or boil which will bring the stigma to a head and aid the drying and mending process. BOWEL DISEASES: People with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases have high numbers of receptors for substance P in their intestinal tissue. This makes the immune system overreact causing a never-ending loop with enough inflammation to trigger the sensory neurons to send more pain signals and release more substance P. Eventually this leads to autoimmune bowel disorders such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. BROKEN BONES: To help speed the mending of a broken bone and to dull the pain of any break or fracture: take equal parts of Valerian root and Cayenne pepper along with 3500 mg daily of Vitamin C. BRUISES: To make a salve for sprains and bruises: use 5 tablespoons of Galaxia (a combination of beeswax, vegetable oil and water ~ ask your pharmacist) or Moisture Cream ( email Dr Lexis Johnson, PhD, HHP CARLOS please link to email address to send you moisture cream made from a coconut oil base and essential oils) combined with 1 teaspoon of cayenne tincture. Blend thoroughly and use topically to injured skin or muscle once a day for about a week. BURSITIS: Make a skin rub: add a tablespoon of cayenne pepper to a pint of rubbing alcohol and keep it in the dark at room temperature until the alcohol is bright red; strain and use the liquid as an external rub. CANCER: The constituents in Cayenne are known as free radical scavengers against some chemicals used in food and beverage processing. These chemicals are stored as toxins in the body when the liver does not know how to process them for excretion. These toxins can cause cancer and induce cell mutations. CHOLESTEROL (TO LOWER): Various biochemists have studied and reported in the scientific literature the cholesterol-reducing properties of capsaicin, a constituent of Cayenne. Capsaicin has been shown to help prevent cholesterol associated heart diseases (such as arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis). Keep in mind that cholesterol is used by the body to repair weak veins and arteries and the latest findings show it is actually high homocysteine levels that are implicated in heart disease. COLD/FLU: Cayenne helps to flush out bacteria and viruses that cause cold or ‘flu. Cayenne helps the “germs” leave the body by inducing tears, a runny nose and lung discharge, which is quickly over. At the start of cold or ‘flu symptoms slowly drink the following: one teaspoon of cayenne in a glass of warm water with the juice of one lemon and a teaspoon of honey. (See INFLUENZA below) COUGHS: Combine the juice of ½ lemon with ½ cup of warm water in a glass. Stir in 1 tablespoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of cayenne liquid extract. Gargle with this mixture for as long as you can and spit it out ~ Do not swallow it!!! For sore throat mix: Cayenne liquid extract, honey and grapefruit juice to gargle with and this one you can swallow. CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE: Cayenne strengthens and relaxes the heart, dilates the circulatory system, and clears accumulated debris. Over time the regular use of Cayenne can return a diseased heart to near normal. CUTS AND ABRASIONS: Sprinkle a tiny amount of Cayenne on a small clean cut to stop the bleeding and promote healing. DIABETES: There are many medicinal herbs known for their strong hypoglycemic actions: goldenseal; pau d’arco; garlic; onion and Cayenne pepper. For Diabetes Mellitus use 2 – 4 capsules daily. The “hypoglycemic effect is the lowering of the blood sugar which is what insulin does as diabetics have high blood sugar. AVOID CAYENNE IF YOU HAVE LOW BLOOD SUGAR. DIABETIC NEUROPATHY: The pain experienced by those with diabetic neuropathy and diabetic polyneuropathy can be alleviated by the topical application of capsaicin cream. DUODENAL ULCERS: Cayenne increases the flow of protective mucus within the stomach and intestinal walls when used regularly. This helps to heal duodenal ulcers. FATIGUE: When used in combination with some other herbs, Cayenne is good for those with general or chronic fatigue. Equal amounts of Cayenne with ginseng and gotu kola can increase biochemical endurance during periods of emotional and physical stress. FOOD POISONING: Cayenne very quickly kills many of the bacteria responsible for food poisoning. FREE RADICAL ACTIVITY: The carotenoid, Capsorbin, associated with Capsaicin in Cayenne peppers is an antioxidant which makes it a free radical scavenger. Cayenne reduces the potentially harmful actions of the free radicals. FROSTBITE/FROZEN LIMBS: The victim should be fed small amounts of Cayenne several times a day to stimulate the heart and blood to the damaged area. The dead tissue will drop away and new tissue will be grow in its place. It can be a painful treatment however it is very effective. HEADACHES: Nasal sprays containing tiny amounts of capsaicin are used to treat the intense pain of cluster headaches. Use Cayenne ointment topically on the temples. The ointment will raise the temperature of the temples to heal that lost during cluster attacks. (REMEMBER TO KEEP OINTMENT AWAY FROM EYES ). HEAD CONGESTION: The Maya Indians of Belize have a useful remedy for head congestion: make a warm tea from Cayenne pepper to break up congestion in the nose, head and sinuses. Add 1/8th teaspoon of Cayenne to a cup of hot water and sip. HEART ARRHYTHMIAS: Capsaicin in Cayenne reduces bentricular tachycardias (slow heart beat) and ventricular fibrillations. Capsaicin can dramatically improve blood flow to the heart. It acts as a natural calcium blocker similar to the effect of some prescription heart drugs. HEART ATTACK: When no medical help is around this formula can be used: steep 1 teaspoon of powdered Cayenne in 1 cup of hot water until it is cool enough to drink; if the person is able to drink have them sit up and drink this right down. Within a couple of minutes the heart attack should have ceased. A tincture of Cayenne or liquid extract can be used in an emergency by placing a few drops beneath the tongue. THIS DOES NOT REPLACE PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS A LAST RESORT. HEART DISEASE: Cayenne is an excellent remedy for any heart problems because of its tonic effect on the heart and circulatory system. Heart disease rates are lower in countries where Cayenne is an often used part of the diet ( India , Mexico , the state of New Mexico , South East Asia ). |
